The 12 Brides of Summer is a collection of 12 new historical Christian romance novellas published by Barbour. This collection seems to be a sequel of sorts to The 12 Brides of Christmas, with all the same authors, and at least some of the stories in this collection are about secondary characters from the Christmas collection. I give this collection 4.5 stars with star ratings from 3 to 5.------------------------------------#1: The Honey Bride byDiane Lesire Brandmeyer5 Stars / Set in Trenton, Il [...]

This collection includes 12 novellas found in the smaller 12 Brides of Summer collections. Overall, the 12 novellas were entertaining and charming. I, of course, had my favorites. ;) I've reviewed each smaller collection individually, but compiled my reviews here, as well. The Honey Bride by Diana Brandmeyer - 4 starsAfter her father dies, Katie is left to try to save the family farm. Pete, a ranch hand from a nearby farm, has been pining for Katie for a long time. Now is his chance to help her o [...]

So Barbour Publishing took four compilations and put them under one cover. The stories in this olio are timeless and so enjoyable. Each one is a great afternoon read or bedtime read to fill in those moments when the reader doesn't want to start some project, but wants to spend the time enjoyably. I've already reviewed these collections, so I will just repeat the reviews I've already written in no particular order.Blue Moon Bride by Susan Page Davis. The 12 novellas in this collection are set in the 1800s which is a favorite of mine. I love reading how people met and fell in love back in those days. Each story is a sweet romance set in a turbulent time. Collections such as these give the reader a chance to read stories from favorite authors as well as find new authors to enjoy. From the beekeeper who is afraid of bees to a dog that feels his two owners need to be together, the reader will enjoy these short but fun stories. I love books such [...]

Look for my full review on Faithfully Bookish on 6/1/16 faithfullybookish/reviThis is the first Barbour collection I've read. These stories made me laugh, cry, and smile at my Kindle a lot! In my opinion, these are all four to five-star stories and I enjoyed every one. This is a great book to savor all summer long and an excellent means for discovering new to you authors! I requested the opportunity to read and review this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

Excellent book! It's twelve short stories. I like the fact that they all have some kind of inspirational message to them. I do wish they were longer lol.

I’ve read lots of novellas recently, but I think this is my favorite collection so far! All but one or two are some of the most interesting stories I’ve come across in a while. I think you’ll enjoy these short and sweet stories that only take about 3 hours to read (or less if you’re a fast reader.)The Honey Bride by Diana Lesire Brandmeyer – 4 starsKatie comes to depends on Pete for help and protection after her father dies, leaving behind a debt she can’t pay without facing her fear [...]

The novellas in this book first began as four separate books that have now been combined into one book. Each story has been written by a Christian fiction author and the stories only tie together by their historical setting during the summer time. Otherwise, they work as a stand-alone novella. The short stories give the reader a moment to step back in time for a little faith and romance. It also gives you a small taste of the author's writing style.First, I loved this cover. It is incredibly bea [...]

Originally released in four parts to fill excitement in the summer of 2015. And finally in a full omnibus in the summer of 2016, Barbour has provided a treat for readers and lovers of Christian Historical Fiction with these delightful authors.

This collection of novellas are perfect for the reader who likes a sweet, Christian romantic read. They are all set in the 1800's in America and each story left me with a smile on my face. They are all the perfect length for a summer time read, or when you fancy reading but don't want to get into an epic book. Each story had characters that looked to their faith to help them in times of trouble, and even though I am not a deeply religious person, I didn't mind the references to the bible, or pra [...]

What an enjoyable summer read. I loved reading about the twelve ladies from the Victorian era and could picture myself in each of the stories. Each story and heroine had different characteristics which held my attention throughout the book. No one wants to read the same storyline over twelve times! When considered separately, I found each novella to be a quick and lovely read. I am so glad the authors teamed up to provide a sweet collection of stories, perfect for a warm sunny day. Or any time o [...]

Almost all of the novellas in this collection enjoyable and quick reads, I was about half-way through before I had made the pleasant discovery that they were actually continuations of those featured in the 12 Brides of Christmas collection. Getting to catch up with those couples, and figuring out how the new characters from this collection connected to the Christmas ones only added to the fun. My particular favorites are The Columbine Bride by Davalynn Spencer, The Lumberjack's Bride by Pam Hill [...]

I did a double take when I saw the title and authors of this book, and sure enough I have read and loved these stories. These stories were previously published as The 12 Brides of Summer Collection #1-#4 at about $2.99 each or the amazon collection of all four books is 4 x 2.99= $11.96 a bit cheaper to buy these stories separate but more convenient to have them all now in one book selling on amazon right now at $14.99 I think. Lovely stories! Worthwhile no matter how you buy them :)

    18. Hillary Cummings

Great, heartwarming stories!Great, heartwarming stories! I love the length too. One is a perfect companion to day of traveling by plane or an afternoon spent at a park or coffee shop. This is a great choice for anyone who doesn't have too much time and likes a good, clean romance.

    19. Lamar

Great set of stories and I have found myself liking all twelve of them as I was amazed and inspired, will pass on to friends!
